Tax War Room Director and Former Senior OMB Official Slams Senate Republicans for Proceeding with Russell Vought Confirmation

Washington, D.C. – As Senate Republicans move forward with confirming Russell Vought as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Families Over Billionaires is sounding the alarm on Vought’s disastrous plans that will hurt working families while lining the pockets of billionaires. Michael Linden, Director of the Families Over Billionaires campaign and former Executive Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget, released the following statement ahead of Vought’s Senate confirmation vote:

“Russell Vought wrote Project 2025 – the extreme playbook that the Trump-Musk Administration is now following to slash programs American families rely on, all in service of massive tax breaks for billionaires. Even before being confirmed, his billionaire-first agenda has already hurt families – jeopardizing Head Start programs, threatening benefits for homeless and disabled veterans, and more. Vought isn’t trying to deliver for the American people; he’s executing on a pre-set agenda to give handouts to billionaires and special interests while the rest of us pay the price.”
