Washington, D.C. – Today, Families Over Billionaires is sounding the alarm as House Republicans released their billionaire-first budget proposal to hand trillions in tax giveaways to billionaires and giant corporations while sticking everyone else with the bill.
Michael Linden, Director of the Families Over Billionaires campaign and former Executive Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget, released the following statement in response to the newly-unveiled House budget proposal:
“This budget proposal makes House Republicans’ priorities crystal clear: Billionaires get tax cuts, hardworking families get screwed. This is not theoretical. House Republicans are going to gut Medicaid and rip health coverage away from tens of millions of Americans, cut child nutrition, slash education, and jack up costs for energy, housing, and food – all in order to bankroll massive giveaways for their billionaire donors and giant corporations. They’re hoping to ram through this toxic agenda without anyone noticing because they know the American people overwhelmingly reject it. We are going to fight back every step of the way.”
